GO CAT WASTE TREATMENT USING VIETNAMESE TECHNOLOGY

Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong recently visited the Go Cat Waste Disposal Plant converting industrial solid waste into green energy ( Waste energy) at Go Cat Waste Treatment Plant.

Official NM testing operation from mid-April 2017. With the scale of industry, in order to connect national power grid(medium voltage) 3,500V or 6,600V, NM using technology of Vietnam by Hydraulic – Machinery Research and Production Company.

Mr. Nguyen Gia Long, Director of Hydraulic Machinery Co., Ltd, said that by the end of June 2017, NM had processed 500 tons of industrial waste and distributed it to the national power grid of 7MW. Mr. Long emphasized that the nature of the waste electricity technology is to convert solid to gaseous materials by heat-treatment in anoxic conditions so that secondary emissions do not affect the environment. The product is green energy – electric garbage.

Go Cat landfill has closed since 2007. Total waste is buried 5.3 million tons. NM Go Cat Power was funded by the Government of the Netherlands in 2001, and by 2005 they can connect with the national grid. Accordingly, the NM carried out methane gas from Go Cat dump( closed) for electricity generation.

In order to support waste treatment into electricity, the Electricity of Vietnam has invested in electricity waste infrastructure to support the waste electrical and electronic system to connect to the national grid. The electricity price of this NM is currently 7.28 cent/kW. Wte technology can process solid waste without sorting, is different for some other technologies.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to coordinate with the relevant departments and branches to set up a science council to assess the efficiency of waste electrical power technology in the experiment. On the other hang, HCMC Urban Environment Company Limited and Hydraulic Company Limited have set up a project of waste to energy technology with the capacity of 1000 tons of municipal solid waste in to 20mW electricity. However, more research need to be done to avoid environment pollution.
